Select, then right-click a problem attribute in either the Attributes tab or Attributes dialog box and
click either Permanent or Temporary suppression, as desired:.
•
If you select Permanent suppression and the same attribute value is generated again on this
object at a later time, state propagation will not occur.
•
If you select Temporary suppression and the same attribute value is generated again on this
object at a later time, state propagation will occur.
To undo the attribute suppression, select the attribute, right-click and choose Unsuppress.
While you cannot suppress a Service State attribute value, you can suppress the alarm that is
causing the Service State attribute value to be degraded. See
. Once the alarm
is suppressed, the Service State attribute value changes to Problem Acknowledged.
Suppression Persistence
With OSM T0682 H02 ABX and later, suppression of state propagation resulting from alarms and
problem attributes is set, by default, to persistent. That is, the suppression that was specified in the
OSM Service Connection will remain in effect even after cold loads or restarting the OSM server.
To disable this persistence and make all suppression valid only for the current OSM server session,
see the OSM Configuration Guide for the necessary OSMCONF parameters.
