Logical
Displays the configured interface, as specified by the
action.
Values: Copper, Fiber, or Autodetect.
Configured Interface Type
The transmission rate for the ServerNet addressable controller.
Current Configured Speed
The state of the component as known to the operating system on the server.
Device State
The transmission mode for the ServerNet addressable controller.
Values: Half Duplex, Full Duplex, Unknown
Duplex Mode
The media access control (MAC) address of the PIF hardware.
Hardware MAC Address
Displays the actual interface that is physically present.
Values: Copper, Fiber, and Unknown (if nothing is plugged in)
Interface Type
A value of Up confirms that the cable from the PIF to the LAN is connected
and operational. A value of Down indicates a problem with LAN connectivity.
Link Pulse State
The maximum transmission rate for the ServerNet addressable controller.
Values: 10 megabits per second, 100 megabits per second, Unknown
Maximum Speed
The media access control (MAC) address of the PIF network.
Network MAC Address
Lists the processor numbers for processors that have a successful data path
to the PIF. If no processor has a path, "None" is shown.
Example: 1,2,3,8,9

Actions
Abort
Terminates operation of the G4SA PIF. When the Abort action finishes, the PIF is in the Stopped
state.
Alter Interface Type
Allows you to set the
to either Autodetect, Copper, or Fiber.
Fiber is a valid option only for PIF C or D. (The action fails if you select Fiber for PIF A or B.)
In most cases, the Autodetect option will work. However, if you have a fiber cable connected to
one of the PIF ports and a copper cable to the other, and you want to use the copper cable, you
must specify Copper (because autodetect checks for the presence of a fiber cable first).
Configure LIF
Configures the associated LIF.
Start
Starts the G4SA PIF. The PIF must be in the Stopped state before you perform this action. When
the Start action completes, the PIF is in the Started state.
Stop
Rather than automatically stopping the G4SA PIF (as the Abort action does), this action first warns
you if the PIF is currently in use (and stops it only after you confirm).
G4SA SAC
A ServerNet addressable controller mounted on a

or the functional equivalent on a
