NonStop NS-Series

Fibre Channel tape drives are connected to Fibre Channel ServerNet adapters in IOAM
enclosures.

SCSI tape drives can be connected to Fibre Channel ServerNet adapters through a

Fibre

Channel Router

(one or two drives per router). Once configured, the Fiber Channel Router

object is displayed in the OSM tree pane under the

Monitored Service LAN Devices

object.

Attributes

Tape Drive

Displayed in the Attributes tab and Attributes dialog box only if the value is
something other than OK.

Values

Service State

Logical

The accessibility of the tape drive through the tape process.
Values: Up, Down, Hard Down

Device State

Displayed only if the system is licensed for NonStop Volume Level Encryption,
this attribute indicates whether or not the CLIM to which the tape drive is
attached has NonStop Volume Level Encryption enabled.

Encryption State

The number assigned to the drive by the file system.

Logical Device Number

The tape drive product identification.

Product ID

The type of tape drive.

Tape Type

The version of the firmware (where applicable).

Firmware Version

This attribute is displayed only for certain tape drives to indicate the presence
of a cartridge loader. For some newer tapes drives equipped with cartridge
loaders, the attribute does not appear, but the Tape Type attribute value
indicates that the drive is equipped with an ACL.

Cartridge Loader

Physical

The part number of the component that was assigned in manufacturing. Use
part numbers for identifying and ordering parts. This is not the spare part
number.

Part Number

The serial number of the tape drive (where applicable).

Serial Number

Process Pair

The two processors in which this I/O process is configured to run.
Example: 0,1

Configured Processors

The state of the primary I/O process.
Values: Running, Stopped

Primary Execution State

The process ID of the primary I/O process. If the state of the primary I/O
process is Stopped, this ID is not displayed.
Example: 1,296
