Physical
A code that identifies the generation of the component. Hardware revision
codes are used for tracking components.
Hardware Revision
The part number of the component that was assigned in manufacturing. Use
part numbers for identifying and ordering parts.
Part Number
A unique serial number that identifies the component. Track IDs are used for
tracking components.
Track ID
Physical Location
The values displayed by these attributes are assigned through the
action.
NOTE:
These attributes are not displayed for a VIO Module providing V4SE or V8SE connectivity
(NS16000CG or NS5000).
A user-defined name assigned to identify the rack in which the VIO enclosure
is located. You can enter up to 15 alphanumeric characters.
Rack Name
A number (from 1 to 42) assigned to describe the location of the VIO
enclosure within the rack.
Rack Offset
An optional text string assigned to further identify the physical location of
the VIO enclosure.
This attribute is displayed only if a value is specified using the Set Physical
Location action.
Locator
For DC-powered Telco systems only.
This attribute should not appear for VIO enclosures, as it displayed only if a
value is specified through the
action.

Read LCD
Displays all 16 lines of the VIO enclosure’s LCD text in the Action Detail dialog box.
Replace
Displays a service procedure describing how to replace a VIO enclosure.
Retrieve Network Connectivity Info
Displays remote IP addresses stored in the IPAUTH file.
NOTE:
Not valid for S-series servers.
Set Physical Location
Allows you to assign these
attributes for the VIO enclosure:
•
Rack Name is a user-defined name for the rack containing the VIO enclosure. You can enter
up to 15 alphanumeric characters.
•
Rack Offset is a numerical value representing the location of the VIO enclosure within the
rack. A valid integer (from 1 to 42) must be specified when performing the Set Physical Location
action, or the action will fail.
•
Locator is an optional text string to help identify the physical location of the VIO enclosure. It
must contain alphanumeric characters only.
•
This parameter should be left blank, as it is used for DC-powered Telco systems only, which
do not support VIO enclosures.
