NOTE:
Because the hard reset required to complete an FPGA update disrupts a ServerNet fabric,
you should perform a
Check Storage Dependence on ServerNet Fabric
action to make sure it is
safe before proceeding with the FPGA update. Then, update the ServerNet switch boards on a
single fabric at a time and wait at least 5 minutes after completion before checking storage
dependence and updating the switch boards on the other fabric.
ME Firmware Update
Allows you to update the firmware file for the Maintenance Entity (ME) of the ServerNet Switch.
Replace
Launches the service procedure to replace the ServerNet switch in a Blade enclosure.
Soft Reset
Reinitializes the firmware without affecting the ServerNet Switch hardware or the routing tables.
Synchronize FIR Files to Other Switches
Synchronizes the FRU information record (FIR) files of the X and Y fabric ServerNet switches. The
files will be synchronized from the switch on which this action is executed to the other switch.
ServerNet Switch Board
A component of both the
and
, the ServerNet Switch Board provides
ServerNet connectivity between processors, ServerNet adapters, and attached hardware devices.
OSM software communicates with an internal part of the switch known as the Maintenance Entity
(ME) by a connection established through the
.
While always named ServerNet Switch Board in the OSM tree pane, the Multi-Resource Actions
dialog box uses unique names to differentiate between the different types:
•
A ServerNet Switch Board in a processor switch module is displayed as a Processor ServerNet
Switch Board.
•
An IOAM ServerNet Switch Board in an HP Integrity NonStop NS16000 series server is
displayed as a ServerNet Switch Board.
•
An IOAM ServerNet Switch Board in an HP Integrity NonStop NS14000 or NS1000 server
(which has no processor switches), is displayed as an IO/Switch Board.
Location in OSM Tree:
In an IOAM: System > Group > IOAM Enclosure > IOAM > ServerNet Switch Board
Examples:
•
In an Integrity NonStop NS16000 series server: ServerNet Switch Board (110.2.14)
•
In an Integrity NonStop NS14000 or NS1000 server: ServerNet Switch Board (100.2.14)
In a Processor Switch: System > Fabric Group > Internal ServerNet Fabric > Processor Switch >
