Actions
Collect CLIM Logs
This action finds and collects CLIM logs, saving them to a subvolume location on the NonStop
system specified through the
Set Location for CLIM Log Collection
action. If no location is specified,
a default location of $system.zservice will be used. Rediscovery of the system or even the CLIMs
object returns the location to the default value, so it will be necessary to perform the Set Location
for CLIM Log Collection action again before performing the Collect CLIM Logs action if you wish
to use a location other than the default.
Configure CLIM
After you log on to and do initial CLIM configuration in the OSM Low-Level Link, this action,
equivalent to the SCF ADD CLIM command, completes the CLIM configuration. During the action,
OSM does not attempt is to verify that an operational CLIM physically exists at the specified
locations. However, once configured, if the CLIM is not physically attached, a Connection or
Configuration Error alarm will be generated.
Upon initiating the action, a dialog box prompts you to enter the following:
•
CLIM name -- a name that will be displayed by the OSM Service Connection to identify the
CLIM.
•
Group, Module, Slot, and Port location of one of the P-switch or ServerNet switch ports to
which the CLIM is or will be connected.
•
Fiber -- valid for NonStop BladeSystems only, enter a value of 1 to 4.
•
Operation Mode -- from a drop-down menu, specify whether the CLIM will be used for IP,
Storage, or Open (Telco). This value will be displayed under the Configured Operation Mode
attribute for the CLIM.
•
Number of Connections per ServerNet Fabric -- from a drop-down menu, specify the number
of physical connections per ServerNet fabric that will be used to connect the CLIM to the
NonStop system. The possible values are 1 and 2. The default value for IP and Open (Telco)
CLIMs is 1; the default value for Storage CLIMs is 2. This value will be displayed under the
Configured Connections per ServerNet Fabric attribute for the CLIM.
•
Provider Name -- if not specified, a default Provider will be used by the CIP subsystem. However,
if you do specify a Provider name, it must have been already added on the system via the
SCF ADD PROVIDER command before specified here. Otherwise, the Configure CLIM action
will fail because the Provider specified does not exist.
•
Multiple Provider Support – a drop-down menu from which you select ON or OFF to indicate
whether or not this CLIM will be configured to support multiple providers.
Once you enter or update all required information and click OK, OSM issues a SPI command
(equivalent to SCF ADD CLIM) to CIPMAN.
Prepare for Down System CLIM Firmware Update
This action is designed to be used only in conjunction with the Down System CLIM Firmware Update
Tool and must be performed
before using that tool. The Down System CLIM Firmware Update Tool
can be used to update firmware/BIOS on the following CLIM components during planned system
down time:
•
CLIM iLO
•
CLIM ROM
•
CLIM Smart Array Controller
•
CLIM NIC
•
CLIM InfiniBand HCA
•
CLIM SAS Firmware
•
CLIM SAS BIOS
