• Synced and Agree – When all the ports on the bridge assert their synced signals, the new Root
port asserts its own synced signal and sends an RST BPDU to Port4/Switch 60 that contains
an agreed flag (
Figure 74 ). The Root port also moves into a forwarding state.

The old Root port on Switch 200 becomes an Alternate Port ( Figure 76 ). Other ports on that bridge
are elected to appropriate roles.
