Supported hardware and software
Although many different software and hardware configurations are tested and supported by
Brocade Communications Systems, Inc, documenting all possible configurations and scenarios is
beyond the scope of this document.
This guide describes the Multi-Service IronWare 02.9.00 release.
The following hardware platforms are supported by the release of this guide:
• BigIron RX-4
• BigIron RX-8
• BigIron RX-16

Category Feature description
System level features
Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) Allows you to configure a Brocade device to intercept and display the
contents of CDP packets. This feature is useful for learning device
and interface information for Cisco devices in the network.
CLI Logging Allows the logging of all valid CLI commands from each user session
into the system log.
Denial of Service (DoS) protection Protection from SYN attacks
Protection from Smurf attacks
