represents a maximum receive
frame of 1536 octets.
An untagged maximum-size Ethernet frame is 1518
octets. A tagged frame adds four octets for a total of
1522 octets. To use a shorter maximum length
restriction, program this field accordingly.
Note:
If a proprietary header is allowed, this field
should be adjusted accordingly. For
example, if 4-byte proprietary headers are
prepended to the frames, the MAXF value
should be set to 1526 octets. This allows
the maximum VLAN tagged frame plus the
4-byte header.
