Collision window
Programmable field indicating the slot time or collision
window during which collisions occur in properly
configured networks. Because the collision window
starts at the beginning of transmissions, the preamble and
SFD (start-of-frame delimiter) are included.
The default value (0x37 (55d)) corresponds to the frame
byte count at the end of the window.

Retransmission maximum
Programmable field specifying the number of
retransmission attempts following a collision before
aborting the frame due to excessive collisions. The
802.3u standard specifies the
attemptLimit
to be
0xF (15d)
.
