Method of Restarting a Standalone Controller
You must write the configuration to the controller and restart the controller. Follow these steps
to do so:
1 Click the ‘Write Configuration to ‹controller›’ button to write the configuration to the con-
troller. The process can take some time, perhaps a minute or more. NV9000-SE Utilities
shows progress bars during the write.
2 Click ‘Restart Controller 1’ to restart the controller. A restart takes several seconds.
You will see the controller’s indicators (ellipses) change color as the restart progresses.
Method of Restarting Both Controllers
If you are configuring a redundant system, you must write the configuration to each controller
and restart each controller. Follow these steps to do so:
1 Write the configuration to the active controller.
2 Restart the active controller. As a result, the system fails over to the inactive controller which
now becomes active.
3 Write the configuration to the (formerly inactive) controller.
4 Restart the (formerly inactive) controller. The system fails over once again and the formerly
active controller is now active once again.
You will see the controllers’ indicators (ellipses) change color as the restarts progress.
