Control Panels

NV9646

Single-destination mode is not a distinct mode. It can be blended with either of the other two
modes. You can create many different forms of “single-destination” mode. This mode need not
have a single destination
.

The simplest form presents a group of “quick source” buttons. This illustration shows 25 quick
source buttons, coupled with a few navigation buttons for (1) selecting a destination and (2)
other functions.

Global Navigation

NV9000-SE Utilities supports what are known as “global navigation” pages for NV9642 control
panels. Global navigation pages are templates

patterns

that may be used and reused in the

creation of NV9640 configurations.

There are two types of global navigation pages: ‘Suffix’ and ‘Navigate’. A navigate template may
define a single button page or an entire subtree of pages. A suffix template is a single page only.
The buttons allowed in a suffix template are a small subset of the buttons supported by NV9642
configurations. Navigate templates support all functions except ‘Global Navigate’. That is
because templates cannot be nested.

Templates themselves are

not NV9642 configurations.

NV9646 Panel Description

This 1RU panel is organized as shown in these figures:

At the rear, in addition to power, serial, and network connectors, is a 25-pin GPIO (i.e., tally)
connector that supports 4 optically isolated relay outputs and 8 optically isolated inputs:

The NV9000-SE Utilities is a compact unit, being 1RU and having an overall depth of about 2”.

An equivalent NV9646V — a “virtual panel”— is available. It emulates the NV9646.

The panel can be configured in either of two behavioral modes:

‘Display and Button’ mode

All-Button mode

Under ‘Display and Button’ mode, the left-most 15 buttons function as an alphanumeric display.
These buttons display the same information as some other panels that have displays, such as
