‘External Interfaces’ page
The ‘External Interfaces’ page (under the ‘Configuration’ pane) lists all external interface defini-
tions identified in your system. You can add, delete, or edit external interfaces using this page.
This is a typical ‘External Interfaces’ page:
There are 3 sections in the page:

Filters.
•
External Interface List.
•
Buttons.
Filter
At the top of the page are two filters:
•
Name filter:
If you enter text in this field, the list of interfaces is restricted to those interfaces whose
names contain the text you entered.
•
Type filter:
If you enter text in this field, the list of interfaces is restricted to those interfaces whose type
fields contain the text you entered.
External Interface List
The interface list has 5 columns:
•
ID. These are the database IDs of the different external interface definitions.
•
Name. These are the names of the external interface definitions.
•
Type. These are the types of the external interface definitions.
When you create an external interface definition, you may select one of 8 protocols. The
interface type is identified by its protocol. See
on page 380 for
information regarding the protocols.
•
Params. These are the parameters of the external interface definitions.
Some external interfaces require parameters.
