Importing and Exporting

Import Data File

Generally, the buttons are grayed out (disabled) until they become applicable. For instance, you
cannot use the ‘Previous’ button (to go to a previous page) until you have used the ‘Next’ button
to go to one of the next pages.

‘Export’ Button

Click ‘Export’ to go to the next step of the export sequence, which is a Windows ‘Save’ dialog in
which you specify a file name prefix, and the folder in which to save the exported file.

There is no default for the prefix.

If you are exporting inputs, the file name is the concatenation of

prefix

+

_Input

+

.csv

If you are exporting outputs, the file name is the concatenation of

prefix

+

_Output

+

.csv

If you are exporting both inputs and outputs, NV9000-SE Utilities creates both files.

When you click OK in the ‘Save’ dialog, NV9000-SE Utilities carries out the save and returns a
message indicating success:

Failure messages can occur but they are rare and usually based on conditions in your computer’s
file system.

You can also click ‘Cancel’ to return to the export page.

‘Previous’ Button

Click ‘Previous’ to go to the previous page of the export sequence.

‘Cancel’ Button

Click ‘Cancel’ if you want to terminate the export you started.

When you click ‘Cancel’, NV9000-SE Utilities closes the page.

Import Data File

The ‘Import Data File’ page starts a series of steps, in multiple pages, in which you import data
from a .csv file.

Make a backup copy of your configuration before you import any data.

The ‘Import Data File’ command is found under the ‘Tasks’ pane.
