3 Define level sets:
Here we have defined two level sets, HD and SD, and 3 routers, A, B, and C that switch HD, SD,
and audio respectively.
A fourth router is the profile. Here are the physical levels of the routers:
Note that the database ID for the physical level of the profile is 3. You’ll use this in the com-
mands from your external system.
4 Define devices that can be switched by the external system:
These devices all include a port on the virtual level that represents the physical level of the
profile. Here, it is “PF.”
5 Save and write the configuration to the NV9000 system controller.
6 Later, from your external system, issue 0x0000 3001 take commands. Each such command
identifies an input port and an output port on the physical level of the profile. Recall that the
phys level ID in this example is 3.
Example: the external system takes input 1 to output 4 on physical level “3”.
What happens? SD and AUDIO are taken from routers B and C (port 5 of both) to ports 5 of
routers B and C, respectively.
