Second Multiple-Device Page

When you click ‘Next’ in the first ‘Add Multiple Devices’ page, the second page appears:

The second page has two sections, not including the buttons at the bottom which are the same
as for the first and third pages.

Stepping Parameters

This section has a table that lets you specify how the I/O ports are sequenced for the multiple
devices you are creating. This is a sample:

Fig. 7-1: Stepping Parameters (Sample)

Each row in this table is a virtual level in the level set of the new devices.

(Recall that a virtual level identifies a physical level which is a range of input and output ports of
a specific router.)

For each virtual level (row) there 4 sets of values

one value for inputs and one for outputs.

These are the parameters of the table:

Maximum

The values in the ‘Maximum’ fields are derived from (1) the size of the partition used by the
virtual level and (2) the values entered in the ‘Increment’ fields.

The values give the maximum number of devices that can be created with the current param-
eters. (You cannot enter values in these fields.)
