Items absent from the configuration in NV9000-SE Utilities but present in the system con-
troller are reported as added to the named controller.
The report is deficient in two ways:
(1) It does not tell you to which physical level it applies. You will have to remember the
physical level. If you are saving difference reports or ignore files (using the buttons at the
bottom of the report window) be sure to identify in the file name to which level the
report applies.
(2) The change data are incomplete. As an example, the change shown in Figure 5-6
involved two ports: input port 142 and output port 142, both belonging to device ZD1.
The output port is missing from the difference report.
5 After NV9000-SE Utilities displays the report, you can use the buttons at the bottom of the
report to save the report as an “ignore list” or as a .csv file. These are the buttons:
Save as Ignore File
This button generates an ignore file to be used by subsequent differ-
ence reports involving the same physical level.
Before you click this button. select any or all of the changes listed in
the difference report that you want included in the ignore file. If the
ignore file is used in future reports, the changes you select are the
ones that are ignored. (If you select nothing, the ignore file is empty.)
Revert to Saved
This button is always disabled (grayed out).
Save
This button generates a .csv file that contains the data in the entire
difference report.
Save & Close
This button generates a .csv file that contains the data in the entire
difference report and then closes the report page.

Analyze Configuration
Under the ‘Configuration’ pane, there is an ‘Analyze’ page. This page can give you a diagnostic
report concerning any of your configurations. See
on page 491 for more
information.
System Controllers
There are 2 system controller models: the NV960 and NV920. The NV960 costs more but offers
more.
NV960
The NV960 is a 2RU system controller, supporting several port options.
There are several models. The NV960 is a stand-alone unit. The NV965 comprises two controllers
that are paired to make a redundant system. (The NV967 is the same as the NV965 but adds an
NV9700 “remote diagnostics and changeover” panel and an EC9420 serial card.)
