Control Panels

‘Add Control Panel’ Page

These are the basic information fields:

Type

Select a panel type in the drop-down list of the ‘Type’ field.

(If you select NV9640, NV9641, NV9642, NV9647, or NV9654 as the panel type, you have the
option of creating a suffix page or a global navigation page instead of a panel configuration.
Use the ‘Suffix’ or ‘Navigate’ button at the bottom of the page.)

ID

In the ID field, enter a number for the panel’s ID.

(You must enter a panel ID even if you are creating a suffix page or a global navigation page.)

All panel IDs in an NV9000 configuration must be unique integers. If there are duplicate
panel IDs, one or more of your panels that have that ID will not work. Exercise care when
you are creating panels to keep all their IDs distinct.

Name

Enter a name for the panel in the name field. The name appears only NV9000-SE Utilities and
helps you distinguish one panel configuration from another. Otherwise, the name is not crit-
ical.

User

Choose a user name from the drop-down list of this field. (It is this user name that is reported
when the panel’s operator locks or protects sources or destinations.)

Configuration Options

There are 3 configuration options:

Choose an option by clicking the radio button of the option. These are the options:

New, named ‹xxxx› copied from ‹xxxx›.

This option creates a configuration that is a copy of an existing configuration. A new config-
uration file is created.

Enter a configuration file name in the text box. Choose an existing configuration file name in
the drop-down list.

Existing

This option creates a configuration that is a copy of an existing configuration. No new con-
figuration file is created. The existing configuration file is used by the original panel configu-
ration and the new configuration.

Choose an existing configuration file name in the drop-down list.

New (default) named ‹xxxx›

This option creates a completely new (and empty) configuration.
