Generate Difference Report

A difference report compares a physical level in the configuration you have loaded in NV9000-SE
Utilities against a physical level (presumably the same physical level) in the configuration of the
selected control system. The difference report tells you whether any changes were made.

After NV9000-SE Utilities generates a difference report, which it displays, you can use the
buttons at the bottom of the report page (1) to save selected differences in the report as an
“ignore” list or (2) to save the entire report as a .csv file.

To generate a difference report:

1 Right-click a system controller in the ‘System Management’ pane.

Unless your situation is very unusual, be sure that the configuration in NV9000-SE Utili-
ties has the same name as the configuration in the system controller in which you are
interested.

In the context menu that appears, choose ‘Generate Difference Report’ The first of several
dialogs appears:

In this dialog, you select the physical level of the configuration loaded in NV9000-SE Utilities.
In the language of the dialog, this is the local level.

After you select the level, click ‘OK’. Click ‘Cancel’ if you want to discontinue the difference
report.

2 The second dialog appears:

In this dialog, select a remote level, that is, a physical level in the configuration of the system
controller.

Unless your situation is very unusual, be sure that the remote level is the same level as
the local level.

After you select the level, click ‘OK’. Click ‘Cancel’ if you want to discontinue the difference
report.

3 The third dialog appears:

NV9000-SE Utilities asks whether you want to use an “ignore” file.
