Ignore This Control System

The ‘Ignore This Control system’ is to be used in emergencies and very carefully.

It is not obvious how to execute the command.

The ‘Ignore This Control System’ command causes NV9000-SE Utilities to stop polling the
control system (that you right-clicked) for status. This is useful when that control system is
offline. When a control system is off-line, NV9000-SE Utilities spends nearly all its time
attempting to get status from that system while all its other functions come to a near halt.

Use this command in such a case.

Be very careful because it is not obvious how to execute the command. There is no feedback.

Follow these steps to cause a control system to be ignored:

1 Right-click the control system icon in the ‘System Management’ pane.

2 Choose ‘Ignore This Control System’ from the context menu that appears.

3 Close the ‘System Management’ page that is displayed. Click the “X” in the page tab to do so.

This is the critical part: without closing the page, NV9000-SE Utilities continues to poll the
control system.

To revert the system, i.e., to turn polling back on: right-click the control system’s icon in the
‘System Management’ pane. Doing so causes the control system’s main page to reappear and
NV9000-SE Utilities will start polling the system again.

Remove This Control System

The ‘Remove This Control System’ command deletes a control system entry from the ‘System
Management’ pane.

Be very careful about this command: it removes the control system entry without a confirmation
dialog. If you accidentally click this command, NV9000-SE Utilities removes the control system
without warning. It can be a nuisance to restore an accidentally deleted control system entry.
