When you click ‘Load Snapshot from . . .’, the following dialog appears:
In this dialog are listed the snapshot files from which you may choose. Pick one and click ‘OK’ to
load a snapshot. Otherwise click ‘Cancel’.
The list identifies snapshots that you have either made from NV9000-SE Utilities or that you have
received from another site and have copied into NV9000-SE Utilities’s snapshot folder. Under
Windows XP, the pathname of the snapshot folder is
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\CtrlSysSnapshots
or, under Windows 7,
C:\Users\‹user›\CtrlSysSnapshots
If the folder is empty, the command simply does nothing, because it has nothing to load.
Both of the controllers of a redundant system must be online. Otherwise you cannot load a
snapshot. You get this message:
Loading a snapshot causes a restart of the controller (or of both controllers).
Save Snapshot to . . .
Snapshots are primarily a diagnostic tool for use by Grass Valley tech support.
Snapshots are a way of packaging a configuration and the state of the routers at a specific point
in time. When a snapshot is loaded, the system controller restarts with the configuration of the
snapshot and then sets the router crosspoints to the state specified in the snapshot.
When you click ‘Save Snapshot to . . .’, the following dialog appears:
This dialog presents the default name of the snapshot you are making. It is composed of the
control system name, the date, and the time. You can specify whatever file name you wish, over-
riding the default. Click ‘Save’ to save the snapshot. Otherwise, click ‘Cancel’.
