Devices and Device Categories
‘Input Phys Conns’ Page
These are the 3 fixed columns:
•
ID
These are the database IDs for the devices in list. You cannot change these IDs.
•
Device
These are the names of the devices in the list. You can change the device names. (The
changes will appear in other pages that list the devices.)
•
Description
The device descriptions are optional and free-form. You can change the descriptions to any-
thing suitable for your configuration.
The columns for the levels in the level set contain port numbers. You can edit any port number
in the device list. (In most cases, the ports in the list were generated in the ‘Add Multiple Devices’
process. See
Buttons
At the bottom of the page are 5 buttons:
•
Save
Click ‘Save’ to commit (make permanent) the changes you have made in the page.

Revert to Saved
Click ‘Revert to Saved’ to restore the saved version of the device list, discarding any changes
you have made (since the last save).

‘Save & Close’
Click ‘Save & Close’ to commit the changes you have made in the page and then close the
page.
•
Create Device
Click ‘Create Device’ to add a device to the list.
When you do so, NV9000-SE Utilities adds a new row in the list. You can the enter the device
name and its description, and specify input ports for each of the device’s virtual levels.
Note that there is no button for deleting devices in this page. You can delete devices
using the ‘Devices’ configuration page or the ‘Devices’ table under the ‘Views’ pane.

Export
Click ‘Export’ to save the device list to a comma-separated (.csv) text file.
A ‘Save’ dialog appears in which you can navigate to a folder in which to save the file.
NV9000-SE Utilities sugggests a name for the file, but you can change it. For example,
NV9000-SE Utilities suggests
ExportDevPhysConn
You might want to choose a name more meaningful to your situation. The file actually saved
is
‹yourname›_Input.csv
.
(NV9000-SE Utilities does not immediately show that the file type must be .csv. So remember
that the save is to a .csv file.)
