User’s Guide

The third column in the section entitled ‘Mnemonic/Name or ID’ allows you to specify, for
certain data fields, whether to import the data as a database ID or as a mnemonic. It is important
that your choice matches the data in the .csv file.

(Generally if the .csv file has data base IDs in a field, the file was generated during an export from
NV9000-SE Utilities.)

Not all data fields have this choices. Those that do not are grayed out.

Hints

The hints section tells you what the marks mean in the “Target Column’ column”:

Data fields marked by asterists (*) are required.

Data fields marked by plus signs (+) will be generated if no value is supplied. This is particularly
applicable to the ID field of the table. Generally you should not import IDs because NV9000-SE
Utilities generates the IDs. Further, if you import an ID and a record bearing that ID exists, the
import for that item will fail.

Buttons

At the bottom of the page (and other pages in the export equence) are buttons that allow you
to move through the sequence of steps in device definition. This page has 4 buttons:

The buttons are grayed out (disabled) until they become applicable.

‘Save Mapping’ Button

The ‘Save Mapping’ button presents a dialog in which you can specify the name of a file in which
to save the mapping displayed in the page. This is the dialog:

Enter a name and click ‘Save’ to save the mapping.

Mapping files are always saved in NV9000-SE Utilities’ database repository on your PC. Under
Windows 7, this is usually C:\Users\‹user›\CtrlSysConfigs.

Mapping files have no file extension.
