Basic Function
This functional diagram illustrates the basic function of the NV9660 mixer.
There are four identical mixer functions on a NV7512 Quad Mixer Output card, and the NV9660
panel controls one of these mixers. Please note:
•
The NV9660 panel can select 8 stereo sources as mixer inputs.
•
Each source uses gain and balance processing, and then all of the left channels are summed
—
and all of the right channels are summed.
•
These summed signals are processed through a gain stage (Master Volume) and are then
output.
•
If the output mode is “mono mix-down,” left and right are summed and divided by two
—
and this combined signal is copied onto output L and output R.
Additional Panel Features
The LCD buttons are number 1–14 from left to right. A selection button is always in one of the
following states:
•
Unselected
—
dimly lit. If a channel selection button is unselected, the input is not part of
the mix.
•
Selected
—
brightly lit. If a channel selection button is selected, the input is included in the
mix, and functions can be performed on it (e.g., set to unity gain, center balance).
•
Off
—
dark. If a channel selection button is off, the input is not assigned. If a function button
or mode button is off, no function is available or no information is available.
To switch from stereo to mono mode and vice versa, press button 14 until it reads “Stereo” or
“Mono.”
Button 12 lets you change mode. Button 13 shows the panel mode.
