Manual OTDR Mode
Manual OTDR mode lets you select settings that give you the best
view of specific events on the OTDR trace.
To use manual OTDR mode

On the home screen, tap the test setup panel.

On the CHANGE TEST screen, select an OTDR test to set up as
a manual test, then tap EDIT. Or to set up a new OTDR test,
tap NEW TEST then tap Auto OTDR or Manual OTDR.

On the TEST SETUP screen, tap Test Type, then tap Manual
OTDR.

On the TEST SETUP screen, tap Manual OTDR Settings, then
select settings for the test. See Table 12.

On the TEST SETUP screen, tap SAVE.

Clean and inspect the connectors on the launch and tail cords
and the fiber to be tested.

Connect the tester to the link as shown in Figure 104, 105, or
106.

Tap TEST or press .
When a trace shows on the PROGRESS screen, you can press the
STOP button to stop the OTDR test at the first wavelength and
start the test at the next wavelength (if you selected two
wavelengths). This lets you control the time the tester takes to
give OTDR results. You can stop the test to get results more
quickly, but the results are possibly less accurate.
