Scan Settings
To use DirectScan, configure the scan settings to be used when documents are scanned with the
scanner.
HINT
The maximum number of sheets that can be scanned differs as follows depending on whether
thumbnails are displayed after document feeding is complete.
● When displaying thumbnails
60 sheets in duplex scanning mode and 120 sheets in simplex scanning mode
● When thumbnails are not displayed
500 sheets in duplex scanning mode and 1,000 sheets in simplex scanning mode

Image Mode
Set an image mode.
● Black & White
This is the factory default setting.
● Grayscale
● Color
● Automatic Color/Grayscale Detection
Paper Source
Set the scanning side for documents.
● Front Side
● Back Side
● Both Sides
The factory default settings differ as follows depending on the PART NO. printed on the product
label.
● For PA03836-B001/PA03836-B003/PA03836-B023
Front Side
● For PA03836-B005/PA03836-B015
Both Sides
