a Press the feed mode button on the touch screen to switch it to the [Manual - Single]
button.
Every time you press the button, it switches to the other type.
ATTENTION
The scanning speed slows down when the feed mode is switched to Manual Single
Mode.
HINT
The setting for switching the feed mode to Manual Single Mode can also be
configured in the scanner driver. Note that priority is given to the scanner driver
setting.
For details, refer to the help for the scanner driver.
b Use one of the following methods to set a timeout time.
- The [Manual Feeding] screen on the touch screen
Set [Timeout seconds].
The [Continuous Feed Mode] setting is ignored, and the [Timeout seconds] setting is
enabled.
The screen can be displayed in the following procedure:
→ [Scanner Settings] → [Paper Source/Feeding] → [Manual Feeding]

ATTENTION

When a document folded in half is scanned, the document may be fed skewed if the folded
part is too thick.
2 Load a document in the ADF paper chute (feeder).
Load the document face-down in the ADF paper chute (feeder).
