chassisDisable
Disables all user ports in a chassis.
Synopsis
chassisdisable [-force]
Description
Use this command to disable a Virtual Fabric-aware chassis. All Fibre Channel ports are taken
offline. This command prompts for confirmation unless the -force option is used. If the chassis is
partitioned into logical switches that are part of logical fabrics, the remaining switches in these
fabrics reconfigure. As each port is disabled, the front panel LED changes to a slow flashing yellow.
The chassis must be disabled before making configuration changes or before running offline
diagnostic tests. Commands that require the chassis to be disabled generate an error message if
invoked while the chassis is enabled. It is not necessary to disable a chassis before rebooting or
powering off.
To disable the ports of a single logical switch, use the switchDisable command. To disable the
ports of a single blade, use the bladeDisable command.
Note
The execution of this command is subject to Virtual Fabric or Admin Domain restrictions that may
be in place. Refer to chapter 1, "Using Fabric OS commands" and Appendix A, "Command
Availability" for details.
Operands
-force
