Creating an automatic event handling task
Perform the following procedure to create a new automatic event handling task to define a response to a
specific
NOTE:
If you create an automatic event handling task and do not select a predefined collection that has
event and system information in it, and then use the mxtask -lf command to create an .XML file that can
be used to create another task, the task and collection that are associated with the task are placed in the
.XML
file. If you delete the task, the collection is deleted along with the task. Therefore, the .XML file can
no longer be used to create a new task with the collection that is referenced in the .XML file. Any time you
create an automatic event handling task that includes selecting event information and then system information,
that information is stored in a hidden collection that is unavailable for use by any task other than the immediate
task. See the

Select Options
→Events→Automatic Event Handling→New Task. The Automatic Event Handling
- New Task
page appears.
2.
Enter a name in the Task name field, or accept the default, and click Next. The Select event collection
page appears.
