Note

In some systems, the configuration and /or deployment applications may be
supplied on the GUI control panel PC. In that case, the “configuration/deploy-
ment” PC would have both LANS connected.

In a Jupiter-controlled system, the CM-4000 controller can use a serial
or a LAN connection; VM-3000 controllers must use a serial connection.

System PC Installation

The Installation procedure will guide you through setting up and powering
up the System PC. These instructions assume that the System PC has been
removed from the packaging.

There are two types of System PCs, a standard with one power supply and
one with dual power supplies. The power switches are located at different
locations for these two PCs:

If you have the standard GUI PC with a single power supply,

the power switch is on the rear panel.

If you have a GUI PC with dual power supplies, the two power

switches are inside the front panel.

The front panel of the System PC with dual power supplies is hinged and
can be lowered. The Power supplies and the System PC’s power button are
located behind this panel.

WARNING

Make sure that the power switches on these power supplies are in the OFF
position.

Follow these steps to connect the wires to the back of the System PC:

1.

Connect the mouse and keyboard to the appropriate ports on the back
of the System PC.

2.

Align and insert the monitor cable to the Video port.

3.

Connect the power cords to the System PC and then to the electrical
outlets or separate UPS.

WARNING

For units with redundant power supplies, be sure that you plug each power
supply cord into a separate branch circuit, therefore employing a separate
service ground. Be sure to disconnect both power supply cords prior to ser-
vicing. See Warnings

on page 16
