Downward compatibility
For programs that are transferred through the
external data interface, the resolution of the
numerical data can be set to 0.1 µm or 1 µm.
The 1 µm setting transfers the data with only 3
places after the decimal point in the metric system
(4 places in the inch system).
This feature ensures the downward compatibility of
the TNC 425 to earlier software versions and other
TNCs.
Input
To select the accuracy of the transferred data, go to
the PROGRAMMING AND EDITING mode of
operation:
Call the data transfer menu.
Select the MOD functions.
Set accuracy to 1 µm/0.1 µm.
Leave the MOD functions.
Transfer the program.
Setting the baud rate
The baud rate (data transfer speed) is selectable between 110 and
38400 baud.
• The baud rate of the ME 101 is 2400 baud.
• You cannot transfer through an interface with 19200 baud and another interface with 38 400 baud at the same
time.
ASSIGN
This function determines which interface (RS-232 or RS-422) is used for
external data transfer in the listed TNC modes of operation.
