5.8 M Functions for Laser Cutting Machines

The TNC can control the cutting efficiency of a laser by transferring
voltage values through the S-analog output. Apart from the positioning
blocks you can also influence laser efficiency through the miscellaneous
functions M200 to M204.

Output the programmed voltage directly: M200 V...

The TNC outputs the value programmed after M200 V... as voltage.

Input range

0 to 9.999 V

Duration of effect

M200 V... is effective at the start of block and remains in effect until a
new voltage is output through M200, M201, M202, M203 or M204.

Output voltage as a function of distance: M201 V...

The TNC outputs the voltage in dependence on the distance to be cov-
ered. Depending on the active voltage, the TNC increases or decreases
the voltage linearly to the value programmed after M210 V... .

Input range

0 to 9.999 V

Duration of effect

M201 V... is effective at the start of block and remains in effect until a
new voltage is output through M200, M201, M202, M203 or M204.

Output voltage as a function of speed: M202 FNR.

The TNC outputs the voltage as a function of speed. In the machine
parameters, the machine tool builder defines up to three characteristic
curves in which specific feed rates are assigned to specific voltages. Use
miscellaneous function M202 FNR to select the curve from which the TNC
is to determine the output voltage.

Input range

1 to 3

Duration of effect

M202 FNR. is effective at the start of block and remains in effect until a
new voltage is output through M200, M201, M202, M203 or M204.
