4 POS and CPOS interface configuration
Nortel Secure Router 8000 Series
Configuration -WAN Access
Step 3 Run:
frame-format sdh
The command configures the frame format of the CPOS interface to SDH.
Step 4 Run:
multiplex mode { au-3 | au-4 }
The command configures the AUG multiplexing route of the CPOS interface.
In the SDH, payload has two mapping and multiplexing solutions:
•
In the ANSI multiplexing, lower order payload aggregates into the VC-3 higher order
path. A VC-3 plus an AU pointer forms an AU-3. An AUG generates through the
synchronous multiplexing of three such AU-3s.
•
In the ETSI multiplexing, lower order payload is aggregates into the VC-4 higher order
path. A VC-4 plus an AU pointer forms an AU-4. An AUG forms through the
synchronous multiplexing of such an AU-4.
By default, SDH uses AU-4 multiplexing.

4.4 Configuring El/Tl channels of the CPOS interface
4.4.1 Establishing the configuration task
Applicable Environment
When the accessing is performed through the low speed port channelized by the CPOS
interface, you need to configure the E1/T1 channel.
Pre-configuration tasks
Before configuring the E1/T1 channel, you need to configure the CPOS interface.
Data preparation
To configure E1/T1 channels of the CPOS interface, you need the following data.
