2 Serial interface configuration
The HSSI interface view appears.
Step 3 Run:
link-protocol { hdlc | ppp }
The command configures the link layer protocol on the HSSI interface.
The type of the link layer protocol a^ects the link layer frame format of data that passes
through the HSSI interface.
By default, the link layer adopts PPP as the protocol.

2.3.3 Configuring the MTU
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view appears.
Step 2 Run:
interface hssi interface-number
The HSSI interface view appears.
Step 3 Run:
mtu mtu
The command configures the MTU.
By default, the value of the MTU is 1500 bytes.
CQ NOTE
When the configuration is complete, first run the shutdown command to disable the interface and then
run the undo shutdown command to restart the interface to ensure that the configuration takes effect.
