6 PPP and MP configuration
ppp chap password { cipher | simple } password
The command configures the password used in the authentication.
Step 5 Run:
restart
The command restarts the interface.

6.4.4 Checking the configuration
Run the following commands to check the previous configuration.

display interface command to check the status of PPP, LCP and IPCP. When the
status of LCP and IPCP is "opened" the authentication succeeds. For example:
