8 Frame relay configuration

The IP address of each interface and the VC number of each network segment are shown
in Figure 8-5.

The router works as the user device; the interface works in the FR DTE mode.
Configuration procedure
Step 1
Configure Router A.
# Encapsulate the interface with FR.
[RouterA] interface serial 1/0/0
[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] link-protocol fr
[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] fr interface-type dte
[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] quit
# Configure the static address mapping.
[RouterA] interface serial 1/0/0.1
[RouterA-Serial1/0/0.1] fr dlci 50
[RouterA-fr-dlci-Serial1/0/0.1-50] quit
[RouterA-Serial1/0/0.1] ip address 202.38.163.251 24
[RouterA-Serial1/0/0.1] fr map ip 202.38.163.252 50
