7 LAPB and X.25 configuration
The default queue length can contain 200 packets; however, if there is a massive data
flow or low transmission rate of the X.25 network, the queue length can be increased to
avoid unexpected data packet loss.
•
Broadcasting through X.25
Inter-network protocols are required to send broadcast datagrams in certain cases for
specific purposes. The broadcasting physical networks (such as Ethernet) naturally
support such requirements.
The X.25 of the SR8000 can enable the user to decide if the broadcast packet should be
duplicated and sent to a destination. For instance, the broadcast-based application layer
routing protocol requests the broadcasting datagram sent by X.25 to exchange routing
information on the X.25 network.
You can specify whether to send broadcasting data packets on the related VCs of both
SVC and PVC.
•
Restricting the Use of Address Mapping
X.25 calls are closely related to address mapping: Before calling a destination, you must
find this destination in the address mapping table. Before receiving a call, you must find
the source of the call in the address mapping table. In few cases, you use certain address
mappings only for outgoing calls, and other address mappings for receiving calls.
7.4.4 Configuring X.25 switching
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1
Run:
system-view
The system view appears.
Step 2
Run:
x25 switching
The command enables X.25 switching.
Step 3
Run:
x25 switch svc x.121-address [ sub-dest destination-address ]
[ sub-source
source-a^^ress ] interface serial interface-number
The command adds an SVC route.
Step 4
Run:
interface serial interface-number
The interface view appears.
Step 5
Run:
x25 switch pvc pvc-number 1 interface serial interface-number pvc pvc-number2 [ option ]
The command adds an A PVC route.
