Applicable environment
The PAP authentication method uses the plain-text password. The username and password can
be added to the local user list through Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA)
or the Remote Authentication Dial in User Service (RADIUS) server.
PAP authentication divides into the following two types:
•
Unidirectional: one part works as the authenticator, and the other as the authenticated.
•
Bidirectional: two parts can work as both the authenticator and the authenticated.
