6 PPP and MP configuration
ppp mp binding-mode { authentication | descriptor | both }
The command configures authentication binding mode.
Step 5
Run:
quit
Return to the system view.
Step 6
Run:
ppp mp user user-name bind virtual-template number
The command binds the VT with the MP user.

NOTE
When a VT is bound to bind an interface, consider the following items:
•
You must bind the physical interfaces into one VT in the same mode.
•
All physical interfaces in one VT must be at the same interface board as the SR8000 does not
support trans-board MP binding.
•
The number of the physical interfaces bound in one VT to interwork at two ends must be the same.
•
Multiple physical interfaces are bound in one local VT. You must bind the peer interfaces directly
connected to those physical interfaces into one VT.

6.7.3 Configuring a PPP interface to work in MP mode
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1
Run:
system-view
The system view appears.
Step 2
Run:
interface interface-type interface-number
The interface view appears.
Step 3
Run:
ppp mp
The command configures the PPP interface to work in MP mode.
ED NOTE
The
ppp mp
command and the
ppp mp virtual-template
command are mutually exclusive. You must
configure an interface with only one of the two commands.
