6 PPP and MP configuration
The command suppresses the peer host route for adding into the direct routing table of the
local end.
The PPP link does not limit the peer route and local route to be on the same network segment.
IP addresses of both ends of the PPP link that are not on the same network segment can
interconnect. If you configure the error IP address on the one end, you cannot detect and
locate the fault quickly and correctly.
Using this command, you can control when to add the IP address of the peer end into the
direct routing table of the local end.
After you suppress the peer host router for addition into the direct routing table of the local
end, the you must restart the interface must to ensure that the configuration takes effect.
Step 4 Choose one of the following methods to restart the interface.
•
Run the
shutdown and undo shutdown commands.
•
Run the
restart command.

6.5.9 Checking the configuration
Run the following commands to check the previous configuration.
Action
Command
Check the PPP configuration
and the status of the interface.
display interface [
interface-type
[
interface-number
] ]
Check the statistics on the IP
header compression on the
PPP link.
display ppp compression iphc { rtp | tcp }
[
interface-type interface-number
]
Run the
display interface command. When the CCP is "opened", the Stac compression is
successful. For example:
