A
CAUTION
Running the
insert
command can cause that the status of PVC turns Down. So, be
cautious to use this command.
When the OAM alarms occur on the upstream and downstream nodes of this connection,
you need not use the command of inserting the AIS/RDI cells on this connection point,
which easily causes that the OAM frequent alarm switching occurs on the upstream and
downstream nodes.
Step 4
Run:
insert vpi/vci { ais | rdi } { end | segment }
[ number ]
The AIS/ RDI cells are inserted.
Usually, the SR8000 sends the Alarm Indication Signal (AIS) cells only in the following
cases:
•
Receives the AIS cells.
•
The physical layer is faulty.
•
The ATM layer is faulty.
•
Not receives the CC cells continuously
The AIS cells can be inserted manually for the convenient debugging. The direct insertion of
the Remote Defect Indicator (RDI) cells is similar to that of the AIS cells.
Before running this command, you need not to configure the OAM attributes.
