5 Logical interface configuration

Configuration -WAN Access
The default type of an FR sub-interface is P2MR
You can configure the items described below on an FR sub-interface.
•
Frame Relay address mapping different from the primary interface
•
IP address which is not in the same network segment as the primary interface
•
Virtual circuit of the sub-interface
For details about FR sub-interface configuration, refer to Chapter 12 "Frame Relay
Configuration" in this manual.

5.2.3 Creating X.25 sub-interfaces
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view appears.
Step 2 Run:
interface interface-type interface-number
The interface view appears.
Step 3 Run:
link-protocol x25 [ dce | dte ]
[ ietf | nonstandard ]
The link layer protocol of the interface is configured as X.25.
When the X.25 protocol is used on the interface, the default operation mode is DTE IETF.
ietf means to encapsulate network protocols on the X.25 network according to the IETF
RFC-1356 standard.
nonstandard means to encapsulates network protocols on the X.25 network in the
nonstandard mode.
Step 4 Run:
quit
Return to the system view.
Step 5 Run:
interface interface-type interface-number.subnumber [ p2mp l p2p ]
The command configures an X.25 sub-interface.
sub interface-number
is the number of the sub-interface. Its value ranges from 1 to 1024.
In practice, a main interface can support up to 1024 sub-interfaces.
The default type of an X.25 sub-interface is P2MP.
