6 PPP and MP configuration

ip address ip-address { mask | mask-length } [ sub ]
The command assigns the IP address for the MP-group interface.
Step 5 Run:
quit
Return to the system view.
Step 6 Run:
interface interface-type interface-number
The interface view appears.
Step 7 Run:
ppp mp mp-group number
The command adds the interface into the MP-group.

When using an MP-group to bind an interface, consider the following items:
• You must bind the physical interfaces into one MP-group in the same mode.
• All physical interfaces in one MP-group must be at the same interface board as the
SR8000 does not support trans-board MP binding.
• Number of the physical interfaces bound in one MP-group that are used to interwork at
two ends must be the same.
• You bind multiple physical interfaces in one local MP-group. The peer interfaces directly
connected to those physical interfaces must be bound into one MP-group.
6.8.3 Disabling the endpoint discriminator negotiation
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view appears.
Step 2 Run:
interface mp-group number
The command creates the MP-group interface.
Step 3 Run:
undo discriminator
The command disables the terminal discriminator negotiation.
By default, enable the endpoint discriminator negotiation. The LCP state is Up only when the
terminal identifiers of the MP-Group ports are the same.
If the configurations are not consistent, the sent parameters do not carry out the terminal
discriminator on the end where the
undo discriminator command is configured, but the
