8.14.4 Example for configuring the frame realy switching PVC
Networking requirements
You configure the FR switching PVC to complete the FR route function in a network with two
or more routers.
As shown in Figure 8-7, Router B and Router C are two routers. Serial 1/0/0 and Serial 2/0/0
are interconnected through the FR switching between Router B and Router C.
Configuration roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
1.
Configure the link protocol on each interface to FR.
2.
Configure the working mode of each interface.
3.
Configure the VC number of each network segment.
4.
Enable the FR switching in Router B and Router C globally.
5.
Configure the FR switching PVC.
Data preparation
To configure the FR switching PVC, you need the following data:
•
The VC number of each network segment is shown in Figure 8-7.
•
The IP address of Router A is 196.1.1.1/24.
•
The IP address of Router D is 196.1.1.2/24.
Configuration procedure
Step 1 Configure Router A.
• Configure Serial 1/0/0.
[RouterA] interface serial 1/0/0
[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] link-protocol fr
[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] ip address 196.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
