5.4.2 Creating a VE interface
Do as follows on routers.
Step 1
Run:
system-view
The system view appears.
Step 2
Run:
interface virtual-ethernet ve-number
The command creates a VE interface and the VE view appears.
OQ NOTE
The numbering of the Virtual-Ethernet interface of the SR8000 must follow certain rules. The slot
number and the card number are fixed as 0.
You can create up to 1024 VE interfaces.
You cannot delete a VE interface that is connects with a PVC that carries PPPoEoA or
IPoEoA.

5.4.3 Configuring a MAC address for a VE interface
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1
Run:

The system view appears.
Step 2
Run:
interface virtual-ethernet ve-number
The command creates a VE interface and the VE view appears.
Step 3
Run:
mac-address mac-address
The command configures the MAC address of the VE interface.
