Setting X.25 operation mode
SR8000 supporting layer 3 of X.25 can work in either DTE mode or in DCE mode. You can
also specify the format for the datagram, and the selective formats are IETF and nonstandard.
Note that an X.25 public packet switching network requires routers to access the network as
DTE. You also need to encapsulate DTE with the IETF format in normal circumstances
making the operating mode of X.25 DTE and the encapsulation format as IETF.
If the data transmits by connecting a pair of serial interfaces on the two routers back to back,
ensure that the two ends are DTE and DCE respectively and the format of the packet is
consistent.
Setting the X.121 address of the interface
If the SR8000 uses X.25 switching, you can skip this task. If they connect to X.25 public
packet network, you must set an address for the connected X.25 interface according to the
requirements of the ISP (Internet Service Provider).
