Chapter 5: Working with Line Cards
70
Note
Only one operating mode can be active at a time. When you enable
one mode, the others are disabled.
Smart Missing Link Mode
This mode performs exactly the same function as MissingLink™ with
one additional feature. When a link is lost on a port, the LK LED of the
port that still has a valid connection to its end node starts to blink. This
allows you to quickly determine which port still has a valid connection
(LK LED blinking) and which port has lost its connection (LK LD off).
Note
The Smart MissingLink feature is available only for the AT-CM2xx
series and AT-CM70S line cards.
Missing Link
™
Mode
This mode enables the ports on the media converter to pass the “Link”
status of their connections to each other.
Note
The MissingLink™ feature is available only for the AT-CM2xx series
and AT-CM70S line cards.
OAM BYPASS Mode
In this mode, the line card receives OAMPDUs and forwards them on
to the other port. For detailed information about OAM, refer to Chapter
8, “Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM)” on page 111.
OAM Visible Mode
In this mode, the line card responds to OAMPDUs. For detailed
information about OAM, refer to Chapter 8, “Operations,
Administration, and Maintenance (OAM)” on page 111.
Note
OAM is supported only on the AT-CM20x Series, AT-CM212x/1
Series, AT-CM2K0S, and the AT-CM70S Converteon™ line cards.
Link Test Mode
This mode allows you to test the connections between the line card
ports and the end nodes that are connected to the ports. Network
traffic is not disrupted. This is the default mode of the line card DIP
switches.
Line Card DIP Switch Mode
This mode is on by default and allows the DIP switch settings to be
active.
