Line Card Management Overview
The Converteon chassis supports three series of line cards as identified
by their model numbers: CV, CM, and the CV5M. The status information
you can view and the changes you can make depend upon the line card
model number.
The line cards whose model number begin with “CV,” such as the
AT-CV1KSS, are unmanaged cards and configuration options are limited
to missing link, link testing, DIP switch settings, and limited port
configuration.
The “CM” series line cards, including the AT-CM212A/1, are manageable
line cards and configuration options include missing link, link testing, DIP
switch settings, and OAM with more extensive port configuration.
The “CV5M” series line cards are the management line cards that control
the chassis operations.
These differences become apparent when you view or configure the
modules. Therefore, the procedures in “Displaying Generic Line Card
Information” on page 53 and “Configuring Generic Line Card Settings” on
page 61 provide illustrations for both the CV and CM series line cards.
