Operating Mode
When you enable any operating mode that is relevant to a particular line
card, such as Smart MissingLink, that feature is enabled as the operating
mode and you cannot select any other mode, even though it is enabled in
the DIP switches.
In order to enable the DIP switches, you must select the Line Card DIP
Switch Mode.
Configuring the
Line Card
Operating Mode
To configure the operating mode of a line card, perform the following
procedure:
1. From the Main Menu, select Module Status and Configuration.
The Module Status and Configuration Menu is displayed, as shown in
Figure 12 on page 53.
2. Select the line card.
3. Press
The Module Configuration Menu is displayed, as shown in Figure 13
on page 55.
4. Select Configure Operating Mode.
5. Press
The Operating Mode Config Menu, as shown in Figure 21, displays all
the possible operating modes, some of which are not available on
specific line cards..

6. From the Operating Mode Config Menu, select one of the following
operating modes.
