Configuring Basic Chassis Parameters

Naming the

System

To set the chassis name, perform the following procedure:

1. From the Main Menu, select System Configuration.

The System Configuration Menu is displayed, as shown in Figure 3 on
page 29.

2. From the System Configuration Menu, select the System Name field

and enter a unique name for the chassis.

The name can be up to 40 characters, including spaces and special
characters. To delete an existing name without entering a new name,
press the space bar once.

3. From the Main Menu, select System Configuration.

The System Configuration Menu is displayed, as shown in Figure 3 on
page 29.

4. From the System Configuration Menu, select Save Configuration

File.

Note

The system name is displayed at the top of every AT-S70 menu.

Setting the

System Date and

Time

Setting the chassis date and time is important if you configure the chassis
to send traps to your management workstations. If the time is not set, the
traps will not contain the correct date and time, making it difficult for you to
determine when the events represented by the traps occurred.

The only way to set the system date and time on the Converteon™
chassis is manually. When you set the date and time manually, the
